Some more-random-than-usual things have happened in theshuberthome this week. Hmm.
- My Dad and Chris got iPhones Sunday. iPhones pretty much rock my face off, and I can't wait until June so I can get one, too. Yes, I am going to retire the blackberry soon.
- When Brooks and I were jogging the other day, he pooed WHILE WE WERE RUNNING DOWN THE STREET! He didn't even slow down or squat or anything. (Okay, this is more funny than random, and I can't believe that I am posting about dog poo. So that IS random.)
- I added wiki and random useless knowledge to my blog. I am not sure if I like it or not. Opinions?
- Chris and I went on a date. To the movies. We saw Watchmen. I don't think I recommend it. Maybe if you have three hours to spare, and it just happens to come on TV. For free. Then it might be okay to watch. It was too long and very graphic. It was fun to spend some time with Chris. We ate Twizzlers and popcorn and drank giant fountain cokes. We haven't been out together in so long. We went to the grocery store after the movie, which is always fun.
- I got a response for a job application today. The email stated that I didn't meet the qualifications for the position. That position would be a secretary. At the Tuscaloosa VA Hospital. A person with administrative experience and a bachelor's degree is not qualified. I was pretty happy though, because I didn't want to work there. I applied at a place today where I REALLY want to work.
- I am finalizing plans for our Texas trip. I am getting excited! (The fact that UAB is paying for most of it makes it even more exciting.) Galveston has WARM weather. I heart the beach!
- I haven't washed my hair since Tuesday night. And it still looks spectacular. I think it has more color in it than usual, so when I actually take the time to dry it straight, it lasts longer. Yay.
- We received yet another piece of mail addressed to Christopher Shaker. (You must be a long-time follower to find this is amusing.)
- I think Chris and I officially agreed on an ideal time to have kids. Don't get too excited. It won't be any time soon. And we probably won't even live in Alabama when we become parents.

I love this blog post.
I heard somebody talking about Watchmen the other day... she LOVES the graphic novel and was VERY disappointed in the movie. She said she's been hearing for 20 years that it's not adaptable to the screen, and she said finally she believes it. (A trillion dollars later...)
You're probably OVER qualified and they're so used to turning people down who are UNDER qualified that they forgot to swap rejection letters. YAY for applying for a job you actually want!!
I am getting excited about you going to Texas. I think it'll be so much fun for you guys... you deserve a break from the usual surroundings, and I'm super proud of Chris-topher for being awarded this opportunity.
I may have to rename Chris "Chris Topher Shaker." Or we could teach Quinn to call him Uncle Shaker. He probably would have a harder time making that sound like an ugly word... *sigh*
I think the pregomego hormones are drying out my scalp enough that if I didn't have a toddler rubbing gross stuff in my hair all the time, I could go for a week without washing it. Luckily I have found the best shampoo I've ever used so even though I'm washing it more than it needs to be washed, it's happy.
Make sure I'm able to travel if you're going to not live here when you have kids. That's all I have to say about that.
Is my comment officially longer than your post? It feels like it is...
I can't believe Brooks pooped without stopping. That is pretty much crazy!
Why wouldn't you live in Alabama when you become a mom? Where do you think you will live?
I miss you! We need to get together soon.
I enjoyed your useless knowledge about air conditioning. I thought your story about Brooks was very funny. Luke won't even poo in front of us. He's a very private dog...and, of course, I was very glad to see that you are applying for jobs in Tuscaloosa. We still haven't gotten a chance to hang out..but I did think of you last week when I was in target! I will call you next time! :)
I like the purple.
The VA sent me ANOTHER rejection email today, stating the exact same thing as yesterday.
I told Beth last night that Chris is applying to residencies in Nashville, North Carolina, Minnestoa, St.Louis, Houston, and Birmingham. I just feel that God is getting ready to re-locate us, but I am not sure why I feel that way...And if we wait unitl we are TOTALLY finished with residency/fellowship, then I will be 34. Hmmm...
I have been going to the new Target at exit one, I like it a lot. But I still love Tuscaloosa Target, too.
The purple reminds me of an easter egg. Or lilac flowers.
I thought of some more weirder than usual things that happened around here, but I have already forgotten.
i like your purple blob! haha
