I'm sitting at the convention center, about to deliver the much-awaited hitch hiking Texas story via my Crackberry. First, I need to give a little backstory. Joe and Lindsey, some people from Chris's class, are at the confrence also. We didn't know they were coming and we really didn't know them at all. Joe gave his presentation yesterday, and it went really well. After talking to them at the poolside mixer and discovering their love of all things food, we were instantly glad that they are here to hang out. Yay for new friends! Okay, back to the story. Attendance to last night's dinner wasn't mandatory, so the four of us decided to go out and have a nice local Texas seafood meal. We were dressed up (the guys were in suits and ties and we were in dresses) and decided to try a local restaurant that was reccomended by some people at the conference. Joe called a cab, and off we went.
